Better on noisy audio and non-English speech, but the download is large and older phones may run out of memory.

The first run downloads the model once and stores it in your browser cache. WebGPU uses larger fp16 weights; WASM uses smaller quantized weights.

Translate speech to English — Whisper's translate task outputs English text. It is not a general subtitle translator.

Limits: 500 MB per file; speech must be audible; Whisper can struggle with music, overlapping voices and very noisy recordings. VoiceToTextFree does not upload files or send audio to a paid API.

How to use Thai in the generator

Choose Thai in the language picker, or leave auto-detect on for clear single-language audio. The model returns Thai text; the editor lets you fix names, numbers and punctuation before export.

The editor stays left-to-right. Check that the exported file is UTF-8 so diacritics and non-Latin characters survive in your player.

What script does the Thai output use?

Whisper normally outputs Thai for Thai. It does not promise romanized output for mixed or code-switched speech.

Can I export Thai subtitles as SRT?

Yes. After transcribing, edit the cues and download SRT, VTT or TXT. Files are written as UTF-8; check them in your target player before publishing.
